An error that may appear after updating Acctivate is as follows:
The application has failed to start because the side-by-side
configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more details.
Typically, users encounter this error upon attempting to log into Acctivate after an update. Essentially, this error is occurring because something went wrong during the installation process. To remedy this error, take these steps:
- Verify that all users are logged out of Acctivate
- Verify that no users are logged into the database via either Acctivate Database Maintenance or SQL Server Management Studio
- Log into the Acctivate server and run the update once again
- Reboot the server after the update is completed
