Manage Ship Via Carriers

Ship Via Carriers can be configured according to how products are shipped in Acctivate (i.e. customer pickup, common carrier, mail, etc.).

The ship via types, default carrier and default carrier service configured will appear near the bottom of the Sales Order window in the Ship Via, Carrier and Service fields.

Entering a New Ship Via Carrier

  1. Select File > Configuration Management to open the Configuration Manager.
  2. Open the Sales Order folder.
  3. Select Ship Via from the options in the folder.
  4. Click the Edit button in the toolbar of the Configuration Manager. A new row will appear for entering a new ship via carrier.
  5. Click in the Data Grid row marked with the asterisk .
  6. Enter a ship via type in the ShipVia column.
    This should be a generic term that defines a major category of shipping.
  7. Click in the CarrierType column.
  8. From the drop-down arrow that appears select a carrier type from that list.
  9. Click in the Default Carrier column.
  10. From the drop-down arrow that appears, select a default carrier for the ship via type.
  11. When the specific ship via type is selected in the sales order, the default carrier selected here will appear in the Carrier field of the sales order.
  12. Click in the Default Carrier Service column and select a default service for the default carrier.
  13. When the specific ship via type is selected in the sales order, the default carrier service selected here will appear in the Service field of the sales order.
  14. Check or uncheck the Active checkbox. If this Ship Via carrier is not active, it will not be used in the system.
  15. Click the Save button.

Editing Ship Via Carriers

  1. Repeat steps 1 through 4 above.
  2. Click in the Data Grid row you want to edit.
  3. Make the necessary changes.
  4. Click the Save button

Deleting Ship Via Carriers

  1. Repeat steps 1 through 4 above.
  2. Click the gray, row select box of the Data Grid row you want to delete. This will highlight the whole row, blue.
  3. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  4. If you are sure you want to delete the row, click yes on the Delete Rows prompt.
  5. Click the Save button.
