Managing Ship Via Carriers.

Ship Via Carriers can be configured according to how products are shipped in Acctivate (i.e. customer pickup, common carrier, mail, etc.).

The ship via selects the default carrier and default carrier service based on what has been setup in configuration manger. They will appear near the bottom of the Sales Order window in the Ship Via, Carrier and Service fields.

Adding New or Editing Carriers

  1. Select File > Configuration Management to open the Configuration Manager.
  2. Open the Sales Order folder.
  3. Select Carriers from the options in the folder.
  4. Click the Edit button in the toolbar of the Configuration Manager. A new row will appear for entering a new carrier.
  5. Click in the Carrier Field in Data Grid row marked with the asterisk .
  6. Add new Carrier Name.
  7. Select Carrier Type.
  8. Add Carrier Description.
  9. Mark as Active.
  10. Click the Save button

Adding New or Editing Carrier Service

  1. Select File > Configuration Management to open the Configuration Manager.
  2. Open the Sales Order folder.
  3. Select Carrier Service from the options in the folder.
  4. Click the Edit button in the toolbar of the Configuration Manager. A new row will appear for entering a new carrier.
  5. Click in the Carrier Field in Data Grid row marked with the asterisk .
  6. Select the correct Carrier Name.
  7. Add new Carrier Service.
  8. Add new Carrier Description
  9. Mark as Active.
  10. Click the Save button

Adding New or Editing Ship Via 

  1. Select File > Configuration Management to open the Configuration Manager.
  2. Open the Sales Order folder.
  3. Select Ship Via from the options in the folder.
  4. Click the Edit button in the toolbar of the Configuration Manager. A new row will appear for entering a new ship via carrier.
  5. Click in the Data Grid row marked with the asterisk .
  6. Enter a ship via type in the ShipVia column.
    * This should be a generic term that defines a major category of shipping.
  7. Click and select the CarrierType.
  8. Click and select the Default Carrier.
  9. Click and select the Default Carrier Service.
  10. Check or uncheck the Active checkbox. If this Ship Via carrier is not active, it will not be used in the system.
  11. Click the Save button.

Now, when your Ship Via is selected on the sales order, the default carrier and service will appear in the Carrier and Service fields on the sales order.

Deleting Ship Via Carriers

  1. Repeat steps 1 through 4 above.
  2. Click the gray, row select box of the Data Grid row you want to delete. This will highlight the whole row, blue.
  3. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  4. If you are sure you want to delete the row, click yes on the Delete Rows prompt.
  5. Click the Save button.
