Running Acctivate on a MacOS computer.

Acctivate runs natively only on Windows operating systems. There are ways to still run Acctivate on Mac via RDP, various software's or Boot Camp.

Acctivate only supports Windows operating systems. However, there are three good methods to run Acctivate on a Mac OS workstation:

  1. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App Store. Connect to your server or another Windows-based computer on the network running Acctivate. This is the easiest way to run Acctivate on a Mac.
  2. Buy VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop and run a Windows virtual machine on your Mac. The Acctivate workstation client will be installed on the Windows virtual machine. NOTE: This option requires a Windows license for the virtual machine.
  3. Dual boot with Boot Camp, which is included with Mac OS X. Boot Camp is included free, but requires you to shut down OS before booting Windows. NOTE: This option requires a Windows license for the virtual machine.
